ABOUT EVENT
Water resources are increasingly becoming vulnerable and threatened. At least half the world’s population suffers from polluted water.
Emerging Contaminants, whose sources include many of our daily use products in addition to industrial discharge, agricultural run-offs, mining and sewage disposal, have contaminated both surface and groundwater. Most emerging pollutants are not regulated in environmental, water quality and wastewater discharge regulations.
There is an urgent need for technological and policy interventions for prevention and control the disposal of these compounds to water resources and the environment. A multi-stakeholder approach including consumers, institutions and government is required.
Keeping the above in mind CII Water Institute is organising a Conference on Water Quality (Emerging contaminants : Need for Action), on 30th June 2022 over the Virtual Platform.
