About the Program
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region has organized to engage with stakeholders in the Ports, Air cargo, Customs, Inland Waterways, Coastal Shipping and River Ports as a part of our linkages programme - as the gateway to the eastern & North Eastern States states and our international neighbours.Post the Covid Pandemic 2020, the Central & State Governments and Governments of various countries have started analyzing the impact of this Pandemic on the respective economies. The managements of large corporations are trying to find out least cost effective mode of transportation for shipping their commodities with the goal of reducing the bottom line.Linking India with its people – the logistical mode of Port, Inland Waterways, Coastal Shipping, Roadways, DFC, Air Freight, Distribution Centres etc. has never been more significant. Now, with a significant focus on restarting the economy and creating the demand generation, the logistics and movement of goods is key for sustaining the growth rate of the Indian economy.Till the lockdown, there was a significant rise in the volume of freight traffic movement in Port, IWAI, CFS, ICDs and other Distribution centres. Several studies are predicting that in the next one year, the volume of business in entire Logistics sector will increase exponentially mainly due to the requirement of trade. Government of India, West Bengal, North Eastern States and Neighbouring Countries has always been instrumental in promoting Logistics as the best mode of maintaining Diplomatic relations and enhancing business growth and job creation.
Against this backdrop, CII Eastern Region (ER) is organizing “Interlinkages Beyond Barriers: Port Connectivity, Inland Waterways and Coastal Shipping” a unique Series of Virtual forums to engage B 2 B and B 2 G stakeholders from 25 July to 1 August 2020 on CII Virtual Platform from 1400 Hrs onwards on each identified dates starting from 25 July, 2020..
