H.E. Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is visiting India along with Mr. Le Minh Khai, Deputy Prime Minister, Provincial Chief Ministers, Sectoral Ministers and a large business delegation from Vietnam.

From a meagre US$200 million in the year 2000, bilateral trade between India and Vietnam has seen steady growth over the years. According to Indian statistics, during Financial Year (FY) April 2020 – March 2021, bilateral trade between India and Vietnam reached US$11.12 billion, with Indian exports to Vietnam amounting to US$ 4.99 billion and Indian imports from Vietnam at US$ 6.12 billion.

In FY 2020-21, for India, Vietnam was the 15th largest trading partner globally and the 4th largest within ASEAN, following Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia. For Vietnam, on the other hand, India was the 10th largest trading partner globally.

On occasion of this visit, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in support with Embassy of Vietnam to India is organising “India – Vietnam Business Forum” from 10.30 -12.00 hrs (IST) on 17 December 2021

The objective of the Forum meeting is to enhance bilateral trade and investment between India & Vietnam and create awareness on the business opportunities available for both sides deepen the engagement of the industries from India and Vietnam in various sectors which include Healthcare, Vaccine, Pharmaceutical, IT, Infrastructure (Airport – Seaport), Renewable Energy, Hi-tech Agriculture, Science and Technology, Education, Tourism, etc.  The Forum would be followed by B2B meetings with the visiting delegation. 

The Inaugural Session of this Business Meet will commence from 1030 hrs (IST) with Special focus on Trade and Investment opportunities between Vietnam and India. The Inaugural is expected to be Chaired by Hon’ble Mr. Le Minh Khai, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam along with Chief Ministers of some province and other Ministers.
