ABOUT EVENT

At CII, we have always been committed to the objectives of gender parity and inclusion of women in business and believe that there is a need to co-create ecosystems that enable women to fulfill their economic potential. Working with the Indian industry, businesses, policymakers and women, the CII and IWN aim to provide tangible results in key initiatives through policy advocacy, knowledge creation, and on-ground interventions.

As part of this objective, CII along with the support of the European Union’s (EU) WeEmpowerAsia (WEA) and in partnership with UN Women in India undertook a Gender-Responsive Procurement (GRP) Training Programme to promote gender-responsive procurement policies and practices among private sector companies in India.

The program consisted of a series of 5 workshops that were conducted between June - July 2022, whereby almost 20 companies participated and now we are conducting the dissemination roundtable to learn about the need to promote supplier diversity. The roundtable will have engagement with like-minded peers, discussions on ways to identify the GRP business case, and action points on enabling gender-responsive procurement and processes.
