ABOUT EVENT
BACKGROUND
CII’s work in education is focused on promoting industry-academia linkages so that the output of academia improves in quality and industry benefits from a steady supply of high-calibre human resource.
The 2020-21 CII Education Council is chaired by Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman of IIT Hyderabad and Chairman, Cyient Group of Companies. The council’s Co-chair is Ms Radhika Bharat Ram, Joint Vice-Chairperson of The Shri Ram Schools. The council provides guidance on policy matters as well as support on events and projects.
Together with the support of council members, CII has been leading from the front in creating high quality narratives on latest trends in education and pedagogy.
ABOUT CII EDUCATION SUMMIT
To discuss the disruption in school and university level conventional education and its impact on the technology landscape, learning outcomes, academic calendars and industry recruitments, CII is doing a education summit cum exhibition titled ‘Redefining Education for the Emerging World’ from 25 June onwards on a virtual platform.
This appropriately timed 10-day intervention will combine both school and higher education under one umbrella. There will be policy dialogue with Centre as well as state governments plus a whole host of activities such as workshops, masterclasses etc. The aim would be to highlight the myriad changes in curriculum and pedagogy propelled by the loss in physical mobility. There will be discussions on the impact of corona-induced downturn, its effect on recruitment and hiring processes and how higher education institutes are responding to this development.
The conference-cum-expo will see coming together of various states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal. The arena of activity will be a hi-tech virtual platform which will offer a unique opportunity to network, collaborate and showcase novel initiatives. Besides high-quality conference facilities, the platform will have a virtual B2B lounge for exhibiting products, a feature-packed digital pavilion and a digital resource library.
