ABOUT EVENT

Covid-19 and subsequent focus of Government of India on Atmanirbhar Bharat have given India a great opportunity to position itself as a serious contender in the overall global value chain of Electronics to manufacture components, as well as finished goods for both domestic consumption and exports.

One of the biggest challenges facing the Indian electronics manufacturing sector is its excessive dependence on imports despite having requisite technology and capabilities in several cases.  Covid-19 has led the industry to think of ways and means to de-risk its supply chain from over-dependence on China and other Asian countries. While the country has made significant strides in promoting manufacturing of certain verticals but there still remains considerable ground to cover to imbibe atmanirbharta in electronics holistically.

With this in view, CII is organizing the third edition (virtual) of the Electronics Summit - “Making India Atmanirbhar in Electronics”.  This year’s Summit will deliberate on the need for developing Semiconductor fabrication eco-system in India; design-led manufacturing; strengthening domestic supply chains, positioning India as bright spot for consumer durables with a special emphasis on select electronics verticals that have the potential of propelling the country in becoming self-reliant. The two-day Summit will host focussed discussions on the aforementioned horizontals during the first day (26th November, 2020) which will be followed by a Report Back session on the second day (27th November, 2020).

The Summit will begin with the Special Plenary Session themed on “How Can India Plug into Global Value Chains in Post-Covid Era” and will host some of the most well-known names in this domain.

The Sessions will witness deliberations from senior representatives of some of the prominent organisations Infineon Technologies, Tower Semiconductor Israel, Applied Materials, Dixon Technologies. Continental Device Centre for Development of Telematics, NCFlexE – IIT Kanpur, among others.
